At the kind invitation of a friend, I spent some time in Avignon, Provence.
It was a much needed escape - a break from the noise pollution of Paris's sirens and bustling people. Contrasted to Paris, Avignon is soft; warm and slow-paced. The locals are friendly and the food is simple but hearty and delicious. The shops in the nearby hilltop villages are small and modest. The landscapes are lined with vineyards, from which we'd pick our daily helping of juicy ripe grapes...
I really loved my time spent in Avignon and look forward to making another visit some day soon.
